How did your career start with the Normandy Hotel and how did you get to where you are now?

I started in March 2017 as People Engagement Manager and have recently changed to Head of People. This is my first job in the hospitality industry and I’ve been surprised at how many people I’ve met who have spent their whole career in the hotel industry and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. This is also my first standalone HR role and a really exciting opportunity, I’m really enjoying it

What were your first impressions of working here? What was your first day like?

The first day in any job is nerve racking but the team were friendly and welcoming which made it less daunting

What tips would you give someone starting off at the Normandy Hotel?

Take time to get to know the people and how the business works. The hotel is extremely busy and fast paced so be prepared for that and stay positive. Remember to be yourself and what your personal goals are. Be proactive and work hard

About me:

I like to spend time with friends and family and keep fit at the gym and walking my 2 dogs. I try to relax and enjoy my free time as much as I can so that I’m ready to give my best at work
