How long have you worked for the Normandy Hotel and what do you do?

I have worked for the Normandy since February 2017

How did your career start with the Normandy Hotel and how did you get to where you are now?

I had known about the Normandy for a few years through friends and always had an inkling that I end up working here. I began as the Restaurant Senior Supervisor in February and my hard work and determination was recognised by the senior managers and within a few months I was promoted to Food & Beverage Manager.

What were your first impressions of working here? What was your first day like?

It doesn’t matter how experienced you are the first day in a new job is always daunting but I truly felt comfortable pretty much right away. The Management team and staff alike were all so friendly and welcoming. The thing that surprised me was how many guests frequented the hotel. My first weekend was the Darts championships which was extremely busy, I thrive on this so I knew right away this was going to be the place for me.

What’s your proudest achievement so far?

Being promoted early on made me proud, I knew I had worked hard and was capable of the challenge but knowing that the senior managers believed in me meant so much as well

What tips would you give someone starting off at the Normandy Hotel and what are your future ambitions?

Get ready to be busy! Keep a positive attitude at all times and don’t forget to SMILE! At the moment my future is here at The Normandy, I am extremely happy in my position and feel the support of my colleague’s every day.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? How have these things helped at work?

I enjoy spending time with loved ones, going out for nice meals and planning for holidays/days out. I always try to spend one of my days off relaxing and the other doing something fun. It’s all about balance!
